History of ASIATIDES was inspired from meeting extraordinary persons...

After several years living in Asia, from Afghanistan to Cambodia through India and Thailand... Evelyne, Jean-Charles and Wisut have founded Asiatides in May 1981 in a small showroom on Tiquetonne Street in Paris.

 

1982, for the first time Asiatides participated «Salon des Importateurs», Quai d’Austerlitz with only a 9 sqm stand, presenting some modern Art sculptures from Bangkok University (Delivery to customers by subway!).

 

Our first clients like Benoit GUYOT from Lyon, still nowaday our dear friends and supporters.          

 

The first international client was Micheline BRUNSWICK , the «Bon Genie» in Geneva, a decisive encouragement and culturally strong.

 

In 1983, first meeting with designers Elie GHARZOUZI, but also with Jean DIVES from gallery «Maison et Jardins» in the company of the extraordinary Madam SERMADIRAS, Alberto PINTO...

 

May 1987, Asiatides invested and transformed an old post office near the Place de la Nation to the new showroom.

 

 

September 1990, we finally moved our valuable parcels to Porte de la Villette, which once was a 1.500 sqm sugar store...

Meeting with Gisela TRIGANO, a famous decorator and our dear friend, with whom we participated in many projects under the sun «CLUB MEDITERRANEE».

 

 

January 1992, the showroom Porte de la Villette became more spacious with 3.000 sqm...

Meeting with Paulette and Evan COLE, CEO of A.B.C. Carpets in New York, which expand our horizons to the international market.

 

 

 

September 1999, a new 650 sqm stand of Asiatides for «Maison et Objet»... designed and staged by Elisabeth LERICHE, François BERNARD and Eric GIZARD, our good lucky charm...

In same year, a new warehouse of 15.000 sqm fully computerized...

 

2002, meeting with Pierre Yves ROCHON and his wife Annick, a mythical couple specialized in hotels decoration...

 

November 2004, the marvellous artistic collaboration with Mr. Kenzo TAKADA, a bath of yourth in the world full of flowers, poem and friendship. The collection of porcelain and the cloisonné follows.

 

November 2006, meeting with Loulou DE LA FALAISE, a women filled with emotions for her fresh creations...

Year after year has passed with success and we maintained more and more meet up and obviously many names deserve to be mentioned on all continents... Taipei, San Paolo, Milan, Singapore...
